Young film talent to be recognised on SABC Africa

SABC Africa will broadcast winning work from this year's Sithengi Talent Campus competition in its 'Anything Goes' slot, scheduled for early next year. The competition showcases and encourages promising film students from across Africa.

According to sponsorship and advertising manager, Mfundo Ntsibande, "SABC Africa will choose from the mix of short films, short documentary projects, commercials and inserts of varying quality, and ensure that the work fits in with the corporation's standards before broadcasting it."

The Sithengi Talent Campus was launched in 2004 in cooperation with the Berlinale Talent Campus, the competitive component of the Berlinale Film Festival, which gives exceptional and deserving students the opportunity of participating in master classes by a variety of experts.

"We are looking for material that boasts strong potential," said Ntsibande. "Anything Goes will showcase work by upcoming professionals, in line with the SABC's continuous efforts to nourish fresh talent."
