Action channel goes 24 hours

Action X, M-Net’s dedicated action and series channel, will become a 24 hour channel from 1 May 2007, with movie premieres every Monday to Saturday at 9pm.

Popular among all age groups with a male bias, particularly from the LSM 8-10 and high income groups, according to Oracle Airtime Sales, Action X provides drama and adventure in a line-up of movies and series keeping viewers glued to their seats.

The channel’s new line up includes season two of The Contender – a reality show where young boxers compete for US$500 000, the fast-paced cross country race road race Drive and an all new season of the morally ambiguous cop world in The Shield.

“From 1 May 2007 the schedule will include movie premieres every Monday to Saturday at 9pm. Other series to also look out for include Angela’s Eyes, Ghost Hunters, Andromeda and the popular Outer Limits,” says Melinda Naicker of Oracle.

“We have accordingly extended our commercial offering on Action X and advertisers looking for headline sponsorship opportunities to reach a high-income, male audience will not be disappointed.”
