RBCT shipped 6.99 million tons in August

Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT), the world's single largest export coal terminal, on Tuesday (6 September 2011) reported that it had shipped 28% more coal in August this year than it had last year.

RBCT data shows that the terminal shipped 6.99 million metric tons of coal in August, bringing the tonnage shipped this year to date to 38.83 million metric tons.

The terminal received 6.58 million tons and had almost 4 million tons worth of stock on hand at the end of August.
