The 2008 vintage of the Helderberg-based cellar's blushing pride is currently the only South African rosé to make it onto the shelves of this world-famous, luxury department store in Knightsbridge.
Situated on the slopes of the majestic Schapenberg overlooking False Bay, Waterkloof has just completed its maiden harvest in a new state-of-the-art gravitational cellar expertly designed for the production of its aristocratic wines.
The estate currently produces four classic wine collections: the flagship Waterkloof range; the Circumstance range; Peacock Ridge, and the False Bay range.
The Harrods appraisal is the latest in a string of impressive listings in some of the world's finest restaurant and hotels including Scottish-born Michelin Star TV chef, Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant and his fine dining eatery at the deluxe 5-star Claridge's hotel in London.
Other sought-after listings at some of London's finest Michelin starred restaurants include ‘Hakkasan' in Soho; the vibrant La Trompette in Chiswick and the exotic Benares Restaurant & Bar in Mayfair. Waterkloof's wines can also be sampled at some of London's finest hotels including both The Dorchester and One Aldwych.
Winemaker Werner Engelbrecht's wines are also gaining recognition across the channel with new listings in Berlin's Porta Vinum wine house, Antwerpen's Bernardin Restaurant and Den Horst Restaurant in Schoten.
In South Africa, rosé aficionados can find this wine at the Waterkloof cellar - selling from R73 per bottle - and selected wine outlets and leading fine dining restaurants.
