Samsung launches new cost effective mobile phone range

Samsung has expanded its range of low-cost mobile phones with the introduction of the Samsung Pusha mobile device range - a feature phone range that is not only cost effective, but also provides the reliability of a leading mobile brand and the connectivity expected by today's consumers.
Samsung launches new cost effective mobile phone range

"Through market research and evaluation we noticed a gap in the market for cost effective feature phones that go beyond merely standard feature phone functionality and that allow consumers to connect with their friends and family through social networking and IP messaging," says Craige Fleischer, director of mobile communications at Samsung Electronics SA. "As such, the Samsung Pusha mobile phone range is a feature phone that is targeted at these markets, enabling us to continue to assist in bridging the digital divide that is still very much a reality locally."

Security features

Common features across the Pusha range include a stylish compact design with contrast colour edging and a unique textured back surface for better grip. Furthermore, these phones boast a range of security features including mobile tracker, SOS message and fake call.

The Pusha phone comes with a bright colour 1.52" TFT display, ensuring an excellent viewing experience, as well as with a powerful 800mAh battery for longer talk and standby time. Furthermore, the device allows for MP3 ringtones so that consumers no longer need to listen to monotone melodies.

The Pusha FM phone comes standard with FM radio, keeping consumers up-to-date with the latest music, news, sports and weather; ensuring they never miss out on their regular radio shows even when they're out and about. This phone also has an embedded torch light which acts as a handy flashlight to brighten up any situation and also comes with MP3 ringtone functionality.

One device, two SIM cards

A significant percentage of mobile phone users in Africa carry multiple SIM cards to take advantage of the different pricing plans and network coverage on offer from the various operators. By allowing these users to automatically switch between two SIM cards without having to carry an additional handset or turn off the phone to swap out a SIM, Samsung is helping to meet a critical need in the market with DUOS technology which allows both SIM cards to be active and always on.

The Pusha 2SIM has been specifically been developed to meet the unique needs of consumers in the African market. This device supports GPRS dual band technology enabling the user to connect to the Internet, download podcasts and access social networking sites like Facebook, Mxit and Google Talk. A 1000mAh battery boasts an 11 hour talk time and 550 hours of standby time. The dual SIM always on functionality ensures the user never miss a call. Couple this with the 1.8" TFT screen, MP3, and FM radio, the Samsung Pusha 2SIM keeps you in touch wherever you go. Micro SD support offers additional storage for games and favourite music files.
