"The actions are as a result of personal interests from the national leadership of Sadtu and the actions will affect the education of our children negatively," said National Congress of School Governing Bodies (NCSGB) Secretary General, Monokoane Hlobo.
Hlobo said the NCSGB does not support Sadtu's national action and also does not support the union's call for the resignation of Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga and the department's Director General, Bobby Soobrayan.
While condemning today's industrial action, the United Front for School Governing Bodies called on government to support the coordination and elevation of parental bodies into a meaningful involvement in the bargain chambers.
"We strongly condemn such an incident and are, at the same time, reiterative of the ideological position that government has to be seen to be supportive of parental involvement and contribution in the bargaining between itself and labour, particularly in relation to education," said the President of the United Front for School Governing Bodies, Sekete Khanye.
