The decision was made after a ruling by the Cape Supreme Court, which ordered the magazine to change its name, following an application by Ramsay, Son & Parker, publishers of Getaway magazine.
"In the interest of our readers and advertisers we decided not to appeal against the ruling," says chief executive of Media24 Magazines Patricia Scholtemeyer. "Weg is here to stay and our readers are committed to the magazine; they buy it, read it and live it. From Cape Town to Kroonstad they have been unanimous in their support for the magazine," she said.
Weg will be published monthly from April 2005 and the next issue will be on shelf from 23 March 2005. The new website address is www.weg.co.za.
