MPASA launches conference for magazine publishers

The Magazine Publishers Association of SA (MPASA) is launching a magazine publishing conference in South Africa, to take place 6 – 7 November 2007 at the Sandton Convention Centre. The two-day conference will cover all aspects of magazine publishing and will culminate in the PICA Awards Gala Function on the evening of 7 November.

“The conference will be held annually. Our focus is to continuously add value to the publishing industry and to create a platform that allows us to enhance the already existing excellence in our industry,” says Urs Honegger, MD of Panorama Publications and MPASA board conference champion.

“The conference will be interactive and knowledge-focused. We want to encourage attendees to discuss and workshop their unique challenges, while enhancing the power of magazines as a medium.”

Featuring local and international speakers, day one will focus on publishing issues and trends, both local and international. Day two will be streamed to cover specific sectors of the magazine publishing industry including digital publishing, editorial and design, customer publishing and B2B publishing.

The conference is open to both MPASA and non-MPASA members. Bookings open 23 August 2007.
