As travellers worldwide continue to educate themselves and their choice of travel destinations, Dubai still continues to grow in visitor numbers year on year as people flock to the sun-kissed Emirate to experience the variety of adventure, beach, family and cultural attractions that make the destination so popular.

Guests from South Africa, staying in hotel establishments, grew by a 57% between July to September 2012 when compared to the previous year. Dubai, during the summer campaign, "Do More in Dubai", offered attractive packages aimed at families with activities and excursions to match.

As a whole from January to September 2012, South African visitors staying at hotel establishments grew by 20% when compared with the same dates from the previous year, with 67 071 people recorded as visiting Dubai. The most popular months for travel to Dubai by South Africans was January, with 10 616 travellers and September with 11 241 tourists from South Africa.

And with direct flights on Emirates from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, travelling there has never been easier," commented Bailey Gorst of Dubai Tourism."
