STA Travel SA partners CliffCentral

The growth and rise of digital has prompted industries and brands around the world to step up their game and be innovative in their approach to embracing the medium. In a first of its kind move by a local travel retailer in SA, STA Travel South Africa have partnered with CliffCentral to create a monthly travel-dedicated segment titled 'Start The Adventure with STA Travel' that officially launches on Wednesday 14 January 2015 at 17:30, and will run once a month on the second Wednesday of each month.

The collaboration will see the travel brand utilising their knowledge and experience of worldwide and local travel and adventure, and sharing it in the form of quirky, engaging, and inspirational content with listeners across the unradio station. #StartTheAdventure will be a real treat for wanderlust listeners of all ages, and is likely to entice those who have not yet given thought to starting their own adventure. Content will range from the best in domestic travel destinations and tips, to international exploration, and will be aimed at travellers with a variety of travel styles and preferences.

The segment will feature on the "Kellman on CliffCentral" afternoon drive show. Host, Arye Kellman, will be joined by STA Travel South Africa's very own Lee Cairncross, who will co-host the segment. Having personally experienced a good few destinations around the world, Cairncross has had her fair share of local and global adventuring, and she notes that #StartTheAdventure is about telling real stories of real travellers.

"Both Arye and myself have travelled a bit, so we're hoping to educate, entertain and inspire people to explore the world, but doing so on air in a way that's a little unconventional, yet totally relatable. I'm big on travel and adventure, and for me, the more local the experience, the better. This partnership is the first of its kind for both STA Travel South Africa and CliffCentral, so we're looking to make it a memorable one! There'll be a lot of laughter, real-life travel experiences (possibly even a few embarrassing ones) and travel tips; maybe a bit of banter - who's been to the 'better' destination, Bucket List experiences and how listeners can join in on the adventure, not to mention a giveaway or two..." Cairncross says.

Amy Mortlock, Marketing and Product Manager for STA Travel South Africa, is enthusiastic about the adventure ahead with CliffCentral. "We're really excited about this partnership. The CliffCentral brand is one that is doing innovative things in a non-traditional way and pushing boundaries in its own right. We're looking forward to creating great content which is interesting, slightly cheeky and totally outside the box for listeners. We are set on packaging and delivering travel content in a unique way that will inspire listeners to start their adventure," Mortlock notes.

Gareth Cliff is also particularly thrilled with the partnership between STA Travel South Africa and CliffCentral.com.
