The ban will apply to all forms of gambling advertising, including TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, taxis, buses, subways and some web sites.
Around 1,000 gambling web sites face being banned from advertising in the UK following a government crackdown.
Regulations to be laid before the British Parliament on Wednesday use new powers to ban gambling adverts from companies operating outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
